Quilts From the Heart program
Homeless Veterans project
Goodwill Inn of Traverse City has received a grant to build transitional housing for homeless veterans in Gaylord. These duplex units will provide shelter for 24 male veterans plus one housing manager. The duplexes are scheduled to open in late spring 2011.
As part of its community service, Heart of the Pines has voluntered to make 24 twin size quilts and one full size quilt for these units. Fabric has been purchased by the guild and members will hold sew-in days to complete the project.
